The Perfect Trade

It is no secret that the Minnesota Timberwolves are having a tough time. Jimmy Butler wants out and he is making it known. Now why can’t the Timberwolves make a deal? It’s because 1. They are asking for too much, and 2. No one is offering anything worth considering. Now what if I told you I think there is a trade out there that makes sense for not only the Timberwolves but also another team? Now I must warn you, this trade is very RANDOM but the more you think about it, the more it makes sense. You are going to be saying, “No, you are crazy!!!”

Well if I were the Timberwolves, I would call the Washington Wizards and say, “Yoooo… what’s good with Bradley Beal?” Now here is the full trade.

Minnesota receives:

Bradley Beal

Kelly Oubre

Washington receives:

Jimmy Butler

Gorgui Dieng

2019 NBA First Round Pick

Why does this work for the Minnesota Timberwolves

This works for the Timberwolves because they get something long term. Beal is under contract for three years and that is something Tom Thibodeau wants. Also, he gets another young wing in Oubre who would help the Timberwolves second unit. Imagine a starting five with: Jeff Teague, Bradley Beal, Andrew Wiggins, Taj Gibson, and Karl Anthony Towns. Will this make the Timberwolves playoff contenders? On paper hell ya! It’s not even a question!

Why does this work for the Washington Wizards

The Washington Wizards are struggling right now. Well, not just right now, they have been struggling for years. There has always been some tension with John Wall and Bradley Beal and I think someone has to go. They just signed Wall so you know it’s not going to be him. Butler would be a good fit because he would defend the best player on the other team while Otto Porter would guard the second best player. Offensively he would basically provide similar number as Beal. D what if Butler leaves? Well that’s why you add Dieng and a first round pick. Dieng isn’t a game changer, but they need a lot of help at the center position because Ian Mahinmi and Jason Smith haven’t done much. Yes Dwight Howard is coming back but he hasn’t been that dominant big for a very long time.. A first round pick is a first round pick, it is more valuable now than any other time in history. So if Butler leaves, they can at least start over with two first round picks and two decent player in Wall and Porter.
